Let Your Customers Compare Themselves To A Model (And Have Them Love You For It)

My GF is in love with this one model. So when she shows me pictures of her, who am I to complain?

While she was showing me more photos of her on the Forever 21 website, the designer in me couldn’t help but analyze and pick apart the site’s design. Nerdy, I know, especially considering the circumstances.

There was one feature I did like about this product page. Have you ever looked at something on a website, saw it on the model in the photo, and wondered how tall he/she is in comparison to you? If you had that piece of information, you could make a more informed decision about which size to buy.

Does this make your size decision easier?

Forever 21 solves this issue

…by listing the model’s height and size for that particular garment underneath their main gallery image.

How freaking helpful is that!? Why don’t all sites do this?

Check out the last bullet point. Helpful!

Gilt Man is another good example of a site doing this exact thing. They list the model’s measurements in the product information, along with the product’s measurements.

What’s the takeaway?

Give your customers as much information as they need to make an educated decision. Not only will they love you for being so transparent, they will also be more likely to buy something from you.

What other sites have you seen do this? Let me know in the comments.
